These inequalities between the haves and have-nots in education are already quite wide and according to Julie Sonnemann who is the acting education program director at the Grattan Institute, NAPLAN results show the gap in learning between the highly advantaged and disadvantaged grows from three months in year 3 to over two years by the time a student is in year 9.
