65 jobs lost as Greenham Tongala shuts down cow processing facility

SIXTY-FIVE jobs have been lost after Greenham Tongala was forced to close its cow processing facility due to the effects of COVID-19. Greenham general manager operations Tom Maguire said recent factors such as the impact of coronavirus on meat markets across the globe and the exit of many dairy farms in the region have caused the export manufacturing beef business at Tongala to become uncompetitive.
