In a season with more phenomenal marks than any other in recent memory, Richmond star Shai Bolton has taken out the Mark of the Year award for his effort against Geelong in Round 8. Bolton’s grab over the top of Geelong utility Mark Blicavs set the MCG alight in the Round 8 contest and proved the winner over the two other nominees: Tim O’Brien’s grab against Greater Western Sydney and teammate Jack Riewoldt’s Round 11 mark against Adelaide.
