James McDonald rode himself into the Melbourne Cup Carnival history books when Zaaki led throughout to win the $2 million Group 1 Paramount+ Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on Saturday. The New Zealander claimed his fourth G1 winner for the week at Headquarters but importantly also his 59th G1 victory overall and the triumph aboard Zaaki was his 10th for this year's Melbourne Cup Week,
