Mallala

Mallala is a rural town in the Adelaide Plains region of South Australia, located roughly 60 kilometers north of Adelaide. The area is primarily agricultural, with broad acres dedicated to grain crops and livestock. One of Mallala’s most notable landmarks is the Mallala Motorsport Park (commonly referred to as the Mallala Race Circuit). Originally an RAAF training base during World War II, the property was later converted into a racing circuit where numerous high-profile motorsport events have been held since the 1960s.

Mallala is also home to the Mallala Museum, which showcases the town’s rich farming history and preserves artifacts from the area’s military past. Visitors are often drawn to the town’s historic buildings and warm community atmosphere. Although small, Mallala has gained a reputation among motorsport enthusiasts because of its iconic track and continues to be a destination for racing fans and history buffs alike.
